Event Details

An Awakening the Dreamer facilitator training will take place in Alameda, California on April 24-25, 2010

Congratulations on your interest in becoming a Facilitator of the Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium!

This training will feature the "V-2" version or the new global edition of the symposium--which has incorporated feedback from facilitators around the world to powerfully enhance the symposium's ability to catalyze change.

A very full non-residential weekend, this training is being held at St. Joseph Parish Center, 1119 Lafayette Street, Alameda, CA 94501.

The Coral Reef Inn and Suites, 400 Park Street, Alameda, 94501 (510-521-2330) is a reasonably-priced motel within walking distance of the Parish Center where the training will be held.

The training begins with a full day Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and concludes by 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, the 25th.

The entire process of becoming a Facilitator is a rich, focused, challenging and, hopefully, deeply rewarding journey and learning experience. We heartily invite you to jump in and join us. Below are some of the specific aspects of the training program that you may want to know about as you consider becoming a Facilitator.

Preparation Period
The Preparation Period begins as soon as you register for the Training, and immerses you in some of the information and concepts that form the heart of the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium. During this time, you will read some of the materials that inspired the Symposium, do some research and investigation, and re-examine your own Daily Practices—among other activities.

Your registration, and your Preparation Period, can begin whenever you are ready, as long as there is enough time remaining to complete the assignments before the training. Given that people prepare and read at different speeds, the trainees so far have devoted very different amounts of time to preparing themselves.

Training

The Training is designed for those who are eager to learn the basic elements of putting on a Symposium so that they can immediately go out and bring Symposiums into existence in their communities. The Training is followed by a period of learning additional practical information and skills under the guidance of a mentor who is a trained facilitator, or with a team of people in a local community group.

Cost

The total cost of the training is $150 for tuition and includes a Training Notebook, printed Symposium Manual & DVDs, continental breakfast Saturday and Sunday, vegetarian dinner Saturday, and light beverages & snacks throughout the weekend.   Tuition can be paid above using PayPal, or by check. If paying by check, see below.

Scholarships on a sliding-scale basis are available upon request for individuals who need financial assistance.

To Register

Please register for this training above. Upon receipt of the tuition, you will be emailed the link for the Facilitator Training Materials Page. The materials include a Background Information Sheet, the Training Preparation Materials, the Reading Materials and access to an electronic version of the Symposium Manual.  A hard copy of the Manual will be provided to you at the training.

Please note: ALL materials (Background Information Sheet, scholarship requests, etc.) need to be completed and returned prior to the training.

They can be emailed to AlamedaATD@yahoo.com OR snail-mailed to:

Kathleen McCabe, 1834 San Antonio Avenue, Alameda, CA 94501.

If you are unable to register online or choose to pay by check, please mail your check to:

Tom Christoffer, 2020 Franciscan Way #102, Alameda, CA 94501.

To assist with planning for the training, please register as early as possible. Full payment for the training is refundable up to two weeks before the training, less administrative fees.

If bringing this message out into the world calls to you, we invite you to become an Awakening the Dreamer Facilitator—now!  If this is not for you, or if the timing isn’t right, you have our support and wishes for your success in whatever you are doing to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on this planet.

In Partnership,

Kathleen McCabe and Tom Christoffer, for the Facilitator Training Team and The Pachamama Alliance
